XO Weekly #10 Recap

Yesterday we hosted the 10th XO Weekly Space, after a brief hiatus last week, and we came back with a bang! Joined by guests Alien (who we’re reliably informed traveled light years just to attend) and David, we were walked through all the ways they’re enhancing Bitcoin’s functionality through the very exciting BitcoinOS.

During the Q&A, the pair broke down how it all works using ZK proofs, with no fundamental changes to Bitcoin itself. They also dove into how BitcoinOS is helping unify the fractured crypto space; a mission that includes, in no small part, their close relationship with Cardano, which we explored in depth.

And of course, fresh off the highs and lows of the Agents rumors (as covered in Issues #152 and #153), we did exactly what was needed of us…. we asked, nay, pleaded, with Alien and David to save our Runes bags. The good news is not only do they know they can, but there’s something very exciting coming on that front from them!

That just scratches the surface of everything we learned about BitcoinOS, and our brilliant guests also jumped in on the usual market discussion and news segments, bringing plenty of sharp takes and questions for the panel!

Landy was in his usual fine form, giving us a solid overview of where Bitcoin currently stands and the key levels we need to be keeping an eye on. One highlight was when Alien asked how does one get started in the endeavor of learning technical analysis. If you’re looking for guidance on that front, have a listen from around the 19 minute mark.

Additionally, a thorough explanation of a “Triple-Witching” event that occurred yesterday; something new to most of us on the panel, and a reminder that XO Weekly really does deliver alpha you won’t hear much of anywhere else, not just in the Ordinals space, but across the board!

We also covered some hot topics in the news segment with Jack, Phoenixx and Rik: Binance’s new listing system and the tactics communities are using to get the CEX’s attention, with the $DOG community being front and center in that discussion.

Are these “make some noise” efforts effective? Or can it sometimes be counterproductive to the end-goal? Is it even possible to go “too far” in the quest for a Binance listing!?

Lastly, a thread was opened in the XO Discord for those who attended to post proof they were there. As we keep saying, turning up and showing your support is a two-way street, and those who were present will be getting something in return!

Ordinals

Some heavy drops across certain collections today, namely RSIC Metaprotocol, which is down 31% as speculators didn’t take too kindly to the reveal earlier of what Season 2 has in store.

Not entirely surprising, given there weren’t many real answers provided; rewards for holding Miners and Rune Coin came with no deadline, adding another layer of uncertainty for long-suffering holders. And if there’s one thing markets hate, it’s uncertainty (ironic, considering it’s one of crypto’s defining features. “Soon,” etc.).

It’s early days for this phase, though, let’s see what happens next.

BTC Machines are back in the top 10 after a lengthy absence following the announcement that staking is coming soon (there’s that word again!).

This triggered an influx of buying, driving the price up to 0.037 BTC. You can feel things heating up in Ordinals, and this only adds to that sense.

Runes (Bitcoin Memecoins)

What on EARTH is happening over on OdinFun? OdinApe has flipped OdinDog?!

Yesterday I cautioned against jumping in, specifically, suggested “consider other options”— and in my defense, it was ONE HUNDRED AND EIGHTY FOUR THOUSAND TWO HUNDRED AND THIRTY ONE PERCENT up on the day.

It’s done about a 1.75x since then. Still, most didn’t expect it to go this far, this fast. That said, nothing’s really changed: holder count is still tiny (368) compared to OdinDog’s 5,000+, and a handful of wallets still hold over 4% of the supply each.

For clarity, this editor owns neither, so no dog in the fight (pun intended). But make your own judgment on what this situation is telling you. NFA, but there’s arguably one that looks undervalued in comparison. Again, NFA though.

$RSIC tops the volume chart again, unsurprisingly, as traders either panic bought on the news or panic dumped if they weren’t impressed. Judging by the 25% drop since yesterday, the dumpers seem to be winning.

It’s back down to 1 sat now, still about 0.2 sats above the call made in here last week, so if you followed that, you’re winning (even if you round-tripped it).

Closest behind in volume is $DOG, which barely scratched over half a Bitcoin on Magic Eden today. In 5th place is $GIZMO, but volume there is ugly, with only $5.4k traded.

Satoshi (Rune 6) did see a 24% rise today, though again with low volume.

As for the rest... let’s hope Monday’s better.
