CZ Is Back!

Binance founder and former CEO, Changpeng Zhao, commonly known as CZ, was released from prison on Friday after serving 118 days of a four-month sentence for violating U.S. anti-money laundering laws. In addition to his jail time, CZ was fined $50 million personally, and Binance was penalised $4.3 billion. He was released two days ahead of schedule due to federal weekend guidelines and returned to X in true crypto style simply posting “gm“.

Meanwhile, other figures in the crypto industry continue to face significant legal scrutiny. Roman Storm, co-founder of Tornado Cash, is set to face trial after a New York District Judge denied his request to dismiss charges of laundering $1 billion and supporting the Lazarus Group, a team of hackers.

This case is part of a broader trend, with a recent study revealing a 267% increase in crypto-related convictions over the last five years, highlighting the intensified attention from Gary and his goons.

Daily Alpha | Germany Takes a Big Bitcoin Step

The German Bitcoin Federal Association (BTCBV) has been officially founded in the Bundestag to advocate for Bitcoin companies within German and EU parliaments.

Announced by Bundestag member, Joana Cotar, the BTCBV aims to influence Bitcoin legislation through lobbying, networking, and collaboration. The association, led by Philipp Hartmannsgruber, includes representatives from companies like 21bitcoin, Blocksize, and Coinfinity, and plans to register as a lobby group.

This move contrasts sharply with the German government’s decision to liquidate all of its 46,359 BTC holdings, which were seized during a 2013 piracy crackdown. Unlike Germany, countries like the U.S. and China have retained large Bitcoin reserves, contributing to the 2.2% of Bitcoin’s total supply held by governments globally.

Ordinals

After a few amazing green days, we’re experiencing an expected and healthy pullback in some collections. Overall, the market is taking a breather with lower volume across the board.

RSIC stands out most today, with the only double-digit price change. Happy to see it’s a green one on a day like this!

We’re expecting more of the same as we wake up on this Saturday, as weekends typically have less volume. This will be the last weekend of the month, and then we move swiftly into Uptober next week.

Runes

The Runes market shows a similar state with a fair mix of green and red numbers. Lower volume can also be observed here, although the Runes market is still more volatile than the Ordinals market, with multiple double-digit changes in both directions.

Today’s winner is Based Internet Panda, with an amazing and culturally appropriate 69% increase. Epic shows strength today with a solid second place in terms of price increase. Decentralized closes out the top 3 with another consecutive day of double-digit gains, further strengthening the idea that the heavy FUD of last week might have pushed it to a local bottom.
