NodeMonkes: Is a 21x on the Cards?
Not too long ago, comparing the market caps of any Ordinal collection to CryptoPunks would have seemed absurd!
The mere notion of such a comparison would have cultivated attempts to have one sectioned. However, time is healing, and here we are now having that very conversation without fear of being carted off in the back of an ambulance.
A recent comparison between CryptoPunks and NodeMonkes reveals an interesting gap in market cap ratios. On Ethereum, CryptoPunks’ MCAP is 0.2% of ETH’s, while NodeMonkes, Bitcoin’s top collection, holds just 0.01% of BTC’s.
🧵A Comparison of Punks and NodeMonkes MCAP
Cryptopunks is the top collection on Ethereum by MCAP and currently NodeMonkes is the top collection on Bitcoin by MCAP
Punks MCAP to ETH’s MCAP currently stands at 0.2% while NodeMonkes MCAP to BTC MCAP stands at 0.01%.

According to MonkeAppraiser, if NodeMonkes matched CryptoPunks’ ratio, its floor price would soar to 4.68 BTC—around 21 times its current value. With CryptoPunks’ all-time high floor at 7.77 BTC, this raises the question: Could NodeMonkes or other Ordinals collections follow a similar trajectory on Bitcoin?
Could Ordinals on Bitcoin achieve the same collector demand as Punks did on Ethereum? The comparison suggests something we have known all along; huge upside for Bitcoin collectibles.

Ordinals

A calmer day unfolded yesterday with some healthy retracements across most collections. Runestone is seeing renewed interest, likely due to the surge in volume on $DOG and Runes as a whole. Speculators might be eyeing the second of three airdrops for holders.
Guardians of Ordinals, which minted out yesterday, entered the top 5 and proved a successful launch, with their floor holding well above mint price.
Runes

Billion Dollar Cat had a red day, down 2% over 24 hours. While it’s not alarming for holders, some believe that the 53 sats level is crucial—if broken, we could see fireworks to the upside.
Volume remains high and steady across the top 5, with Meowgic-Internet-Money taking the spotlight as today’s breakout Rune. Will this one show more staying power than others that have had short-lived bursts this week? It's hard to say—caution is advised when diving into these ultra-low caps. Be sure to check out their X account here before making any moves.
