Murad Talks Bitcoin-Based Cults

In a recent podcast interview, crypto strategist and CT main character, Murad Mahmudov, shared his insights on Bitcoin’s growing role in the meme coin space with Charlie Spears for Blockspace Media.

Murad pointed out that, as blockchain technology advances, meme coins on Bitcoin are evolving beyond mere speculation. They are now forming strong, ideology-driven communities that could endure the market’s ups and downs. Projects such as WZRD, Pups, and—though not a meme coin—Bitmap, are leading the charge in this shift.

Murad explained that while meme coins have historically thrived on Ethereum and Solana, Bitcoin is now home to its own unique meme coin ecosystem, thanks to the rise of protocols like Ordinals and Runes. These protocols allow Bitcoin to support a new category of assets, offering permanence and credibility to community-driven projects in a way other blockchains struggle to maintain. “The beauty of Bitcoin is its asymmetric staying power,” he said, emphasizing how meme coins on Bitcoin benefit from its security and permanence.

Murad believes that the strongest meme coins on Bitcoin—like Pups, celebrating friendship and community, and WZRD, inspired by wizardry fantasy—have the potential to be more than just short-lived trends. These coins, he argues, could foster “movement coins,” communities united not by financial gains alone, but by shared identity and purpose. “People want to do something,” he added, suggesting that the stronger the non-monetary component of these projects, the more resilient they become as investments.

Murad also referenced Bitmap, exploring themes of digital land ownership, and Bitcoin Puppets, which promotes ideals like peace and unity. He believes these projects are indicative of the future of Bitcoin-based community assets. “We want to be technology-agnostic, chain-agnostic, and upgrade-agnostic,” he said, emphasizing that for him, the true value of Bitcoin-based meme coins lies in their ability to inspire and unite people.

Daily Alpha | Sub-10K Spotlight

In a recent thread, Polar explores the unique significance of Ordinals collections with sub-10k inscriptions, emphasizing their rarity and potential undervaluation in the market today. Collections inscribed within the sub-10k range are particularly noteworthy because they were among the first to be inscribed, solidifying their status as historical artifacts in the growing Ordinals ecosystem.

Polar highlights several key collections, including Ordinal Punks—the first PFP collection fully inscribed within the sub-1k range—and Punks On Bitcoin, a 1/1 original punk art collection featuring notable pieces inspired by figures like Elon Musk and Donald Trump. Polar also mentions Ordinal Penguins, a collection inscribed on satoshis from 2009, which gives it added historical value.

Despite their cultural and historical relevance, Polar suggests that these sub-10k Ordinals collections are still undervalued in the market. He believes their scarcity and historical significance could drive their long-term value, particularly in the next bull market. For those looking for a long-term investment opportunity, Polar’s thread provides a detailed look into why sub-10k inscriptions could hold exceptional importance moving forward.

Daily Alpha | Bhutan Moves Funds To Binance

Bhutan, a small, landlocked country nestled in the Himalayas, has quietly adopted an unconventional strategy for nation-states by accumulating significant Bitcoin reserves over the past few years.

Beginning in 2021, Bhutan’s government began using its abundant hydroelectric power to mine Bitcoin. With access to renewable energy, the country can mine Bitcoin sustainably and cost-effectively, making it an attractive investment. Bhutan’s Bitcoin accumulation is part of a broader strategy to diversify its national reserves and explore new economic opportunities.

As of this week, Bhutan held over 12,500 BTC, valued at more than $1 billion, placing it among the top government holders of Bitcoin worldwide. This move is viewed as a long-term investment, with the government positioning itself to benefit from Bitcoin’s potential as a digital store of value. However, Bhutan’s Bitcoin holdings have recently made headlines after it moved over 367 BTC, valued at approximately $33 million, to Binance.

Bhutan's approach to Bitcoin has sparked interest among other nations considering Bitcoin as a legitimate asset for their own reserves, demonstrating how the country is leveraging its unique resources to take advantage of the digital currency’s potential.

Ordinals

The Top 5 today sees the introduction of Jiurn’s Inscripedia launch collection at number 4, with an impressive 1,176 sales since minting concluded. The stories in this collection were written by Casey Roarmor, making them a collector's item for Ordinals die-hards.

The remaining spots are filled by the usual suspects, with Puppets and NodeMonkes once again leading the pack, both surpassing the combined volume of the rest of the Top 10.

The bottom half is a bit more interesting, starting with the Bitcoin Puppet Honoriaries at number 6. The collection recorded just one sale for 1.01 BTC.

You might wonder, who would sell their honorary? Well, it was none other than Ghostface Killah of Wu-Tang Clan—who faced some heat for it! Some have seen the move as questionable, especially since he launched the For the Children Rune, which was criticized for being extractive during the launch and has been a major flop since.

At number 10, we see TwelveFold by Yuga Labs, which holds a special place in the memories of many ExtraOrdinals. For those who know, you know. This collection saw 4 sales yesterday, momentarily bringing it back into the spotlight.

Runes

For a few hours yesterday, it looked like DOG was about to be overtaken by PUPS. At a crucial moment, however, a whale stepped in to save DOG, sweeping the floor and clearing out some large bricks. While the market overall is experiencing a pullback, it seems that the flippening—if it happens—will have to wait for another day.

Cypher Genesis is on a tear and has now surpassed a $15M market cap, as word spreads that it’s the “first AI coin on Bitcoin.” While that’s not entirely accurate (study $WANKO), Cypher Genesis is the most established and has garnered the most attention, with AI wizard Bootoshi working hard on it since launch.

Piggybacking off the DOGE-mania sweeping across mainstream news and meme coins on other chains, we now have our own DOGE on Bitcoin, currently sitting at a $370K market cap, down from a high of about 0.9 sats just last night.

A similar story can be told for Pnut Forever, which is also a copycat of a successful token on another chain. It’s down heavily today, suggesting that DOGE could face a similar fate. So, if you’re thinking about diving in, exercise caution.
