MEMENTO•MORI kills the Hell Money Patreon

The newly minted MEMENTO•MORI runes, already recognized as a descendant of the #0 Inscription by Casey Rodarmor, have officially been revealed with a public announcement and explanation from the energetic and enigmatic Hell Money podcast hosts, Casey and Erin.

The runes have sparked significant interest and speculation, especially with the leaked plans to airdrop 50% of the pre-mined supply to Hell Money Patreon subscribers. This airdrop has now been confirmed. However… it appears the gods of Patreon weren’t pleased and decided to nuke the Hell Money Patreon account!

This could be due to Patreon’s reluctance to be seen as a platform facilitating the sale of a self-proclaimed “shitcoin.” Despite the hosts being clear and cautious with their words, using phrases like “This is a gift, not a sale,” “It has no value,” and “It’s a fun experiment”, we all know how risk-averse companies can be when it comes to anything crypto-related.

With the public mint scheduled for around Halloween (October 31st), and Patreon previously being the main way to access the token, things could get interesting. Fortunately, the hosts assured viewers that they “have everything they need for the airdrop,” which could be good news for those who subscribed before the ban.

Yesterday, we had the pleasure of hosting another amazing ExtraOrdinal Spaces, this time with Beyond. GreenCandleJack grilled Nate from the Beyond team quite extensively on the technical details, discussing the inconveniences and risks that bridges and interoperability can pose to users. We highly recommend listening to the entire space for the full insights.

In general, we can say that Beyond is not cutting corners here. They have clearly put serious thought into the technological infrastructure and are leveraging some of the best tech on the non-Bitcoin side, such as LayerZero, while also being the first to expand its functionality to Bitcoin.

They are currently working with some of the biggest communities in the industry to give away their final whitelist spots for their free mint on October 31st on Magic Eden. We just concluded our massive giveaway and congratulate all the winners.

Ordinals

Insurgence by Debauchery made it to the top by volume on its mint day, sadly hanging slightly below its mint price at the moment. Another victim of these uncertain and volatile times for Ordinal projects. The fire we saw spark just over a week ago has yet to reignite. Volume is on a slow but steady downtrend overall.

All other projects are also down, making this a fully red, bloody day among the top Ordinal collections. Nodemonkes take the top volume spot for the second day in a row, reclaiming some pride and attention from the Puppets. Gizmo and the Bitcoin Frogs have been hit the hardest today with double-digit losses, while all others seem to be experiencing a slow and hopefully temporary bleed-out.

With Runes also showing only meager and temporary strength here and there, traders must be anxiously looking for opportunities at the moment. Personally, I’m sitting on my hands, waiting to see what comes next in the market.

Runes

Runes are faring quite a bit better than collections, with some greens and significantly better volume. The new mint Cypher Genesis has taken the top spot by volume today. Let’s hope the AI-generated ghost of Satoshi can retain some strength for everyone who minted.

Dog is the #1 by volume among the existing runes, with a perfectly balanced 0.00% price move—an ideal representation of the current market sentiment: indecisiveness!

Pups, Pooka, and BDC are showing some growth, with Pups taking the lead after a few rough days.

GIZMO is taking another 18% hit today, following yesterday’s 25% loss. However, other runes like Oozy Goozemo are being hit even harder, losing half its value.

Saiko Hamster also saw a 23% downturn today, but it’s worth noting that it remains one of the few rune memes to hold a spot in the top ten for over three weeks. To me, that shows some long-term strength.

In general, we’re heading into the weekend with a test of our resolve, waiting for the market to show its hand. Don’t make any emotionally rushed decisions—stick with your thesis, and let’s see what the weekend brings.
