Mintify Keys Set To Unlock BTC Innovation

Mintify is gearing up to launch their BRC-555 Bitcoin Keys, integrating the innovative BRC-555 standard developed by your favorite team, ExtraOrdinals, to create a dynamic and evolving NFT collection within the Ordinals ecosystem.

Originally slated for today, the Mintify team have pushed the mint date to 22nd October to “ensure an excellent mint experience, minimal network disturbance, and pack in even more perks and functionality to the collection.”

As highlighted in issue #11 of ExtraOrdinal Daily, Mintify is well-known for its infrastructure in the broader crypto sphere, including an NFT order book system for gaming, art, and real-world assets. Earlier this year, they raised $3.4 million to expand their platform. Already active across Ethereum, Base, and Blast, Mintify’s move into Ordinals with BRC-555 technology marks their first foray into Bitcoin NFTs.

The Ordinal Keys will allow holders to engage in on-chain upgrades through BRC-555 tech, enabling users to reinscribe their Keys with new features and level up on-chain. With each upgrade, the visual traits and perks associated with the Ordinal Key will evolve.

The collection consists of 20,000 Ordinal Keys, split into two tiers: 16,667 Bitcoin Keys (free, network fees apply) and 3,333 Nakamoto Keys (priced at 0.00169 BTC). Holders of the Keys will enjoy benefits such as trading and minting XP, Lootboxes, and exclusive access to partner drops via the Mintify Ordinals Launchpad.

This collection is part of a broader plan to reshape how collections function within the Ordinals space. The flexibility provided by BRC-555 allows the project to maintain relevance and engagement long after the initial mint, which has been a challenge for many static NFT projects.

ExtraOrdinals, having provided technical guidance for the integration of BRC-555 into this project, sees Mintify's success as proof of concept for the standard. This collaboration is just the first of many that will implement BRC-555, setting the stage for a series of high-profile initiatives yet to be revealed. Certainly, the party has only just begun.

Daily Alpha | Trump’s DeFi Dream Hits Hurdles

As mentioned yesterday in Daily Bites, Donald Trump has entered the DeFi arena with the launch of the World Liberty Financial (WLFI) token sale, aiming to raise $300 million by selling 20% of its token supply. This initiative, which kicked off on October 15th, targets a projected valuation of $1.5 billion, with the WLFI token designed to function as a governance tool, giving holders a say in the platform's key decisions.

Despite the ambitious goals, WLFI’s early performance has been mixed. While over $12 million was raised within the first 30 hours, this represents only 4% of the total goal. That’s not to say there hasn’t been interest, with over 100,000 approved before the sale, but the platform encountered technical difficulties, including a website crash due to high demand.

Trump’s involvement has sparked further speculation about his crypto agenda, particularly with his 2024 presidential campaign on the horizon. His push to make the U.S. a global leader in digital assets aligns with his broader political ambitions, which include replacing current SEC Chair Gary Gensler.

On the flip side, with 97% of tokens controlled by the top 10 holders, the road to success remains challenging, as many will view this as concerning. Additionally, it came to light that the token is not transferrable until further notice. Is that a positive or a negative? There’s arguments for both there.

Still, if Trump’s vision for crypto integration into mainstream finance materializes, WLFI could become a cornerstone of this movement.

Ordinals

OMB once again takes the top spot for 24-hour Ordinals volume, holding steady at just under a 0.2 floor price. However, Based Angels has emerged, not only breaking into the top five but also giving OMB a run for its money, with less than $10K in trading volume separating the two.

Was Based Angels, in hindsight, an obvious play? Considering the success of Mildays on ETH and Retardios on SOL, one could certainly argue that it was. While their floor has risen over 165% in the past week, there’s likely more room for growth here.

A Based Angel costs $1,000, a Milady is $12,500, and a Retardio is $4,500. Time will tell if Based Angels catch up to their cousins.

In the bottom half, Pizza Ninjas have re-entered the top ten, while Quantum Cats have seen a dramatic loss in sales activity, pushing them down to seventh. RSIC miners appear to be picking up some steam, possibly as some anticipate action from the enigmatic team as Runes continue to heat up.

Runes

The mempool was ON FIRE yesterday evening—with the launch of OMB’s community-created Rune, Pooka Cannot Be Stopped, sending fees spiraling upwards to around 350 sats at one stage. Pooka is said to be the name of ZK Shark’s dog, continuing the founders' pet meta that has captured the majority of degens’ attention for some time.

In other areas, Billion Dollar Cat finally broke the $100 million market cap mark for a brief period, while Red Cat Romeo, Jack Lu’s cat, had a wild day. It was sold into oblivion twice before being resurrected three times, and it currently seems to have stabilized a little below the $1 million market cap area.

In the bottom half, Koda Fluffington, the pet mascot of NodeMonkes, had a rough day as it was potentially sold off by buyers looking to get into the new pets launched. RSIC is moving along steadily alongside its Ordinal counterpart, and Based Internet Panda has made a return, sneaking back into the top ten.

Runes, as hot as they are at the moment, are subject to a number of new launches that are extremely risky, with many going to zero expeditiously. Remember to use your sats wisely; the big show hasn’t even begun yet!
