It’s actually worth watching this short video by VanEck’s CEO! It shows the level of bullishness and understanding rooted in the upper levels of this $108 BILLION asset manager. Of course, it could all be theater, but the general (boomer) public will likely believe it and follow their lead, no doubt.

Also, just take a moment to consider how manipulative, but mostly familiar, this sounds: “It was illegal for American citizens to own gold.” We’ve seen this before, and it’s never in the interest of the consumer or the individual. Luckily, “the individual” already owns the vast majority of Bitcoin right now, as shown by this beautiful visual by Bitwise.

On the traditional finance topic, there are 4 key economic events possibly impacint the markets this week. Take a quick glance so you know what to expect and you will not be surprised by any sudden moves.

1. Initial Jobless Claims (Thursday)
This report will show the state of the U.S. labor market. High claims suggest economic weakness, which could drive investors toward cryptocurrencies. Low unemployment may raise inflation concerns.

2. US Retail Sales (Thursday)
September’s retail sales data will indicate consumer spending strength. Strong sales may boost Bitcoin as investors grow more confident, while weak sales could push them toward alternative assets.

3. Industrial Production
Industrial output reflects the health of U.S. manufacturing. Strong data could boost investor sentiment, positively affecting both traditional and crypto markets.

4. Corporate Earnings (Starting Tuesday)
Reports from major companies like Bank of America will impact market sentiment. Strong earnings often boost stocks and may increase interest in riskier assets like Bitcoin.

Firstly, this week sees Ordinals London kick off with spectacular speakers and a nearly sold-out event. So if you want to join, be sure to purchase your tickets sooner rather than later.

At the end of the month, we have another general blockchain event taking place in the UAE: Binance Blockchain Week in Dubai.

We encourage everyone in the industry to attend at least one physical event each year. It helps you stay connected to the industry, has great collaborative potential, and is a fantastic experience—especially when you realize you’re not the only Crypto Degen in the room. Believe me, you’re not alone! These accounts actually have real flesh-and-blood people behind them. Well, most of them do 😆.

Ordinals

Most collections have been showing a slight pullback during the weekend, with some very specific collections up significantly.

Puppets are still on top based on volume. Market cap-wise, they are still in a fierce battle with Nodemonkes. It is an interesting battle for collection supremacy indeed.

Based Angels have pumped 62.4%, in all likelihood in relation to the Based Angels rune that has been rocketed up today. The other ladies on the list, Taproot Witches, have also seen a significant 46.3% price increase. Now, who said crypto wasn’t female-friendly?

Most notably, Puppet Maxi Biz have boosted themselves all the way to the top 10 with a massive 160% jump, probably based on their hint at a free mint ordinal collection related to the GIZMO runes.

In general, volume has decreased in both the collection and the runes market, but significantly more on the collection side.

Runes

GIZMO has been on a tear throughout the weekend, now trading at about 2.7x its Saturday value. As mentioned above, there has been a slight decrease in volume in the Rune market, though this has had a limited negative effect on prices. A mix of minor losses and substantial gains reflects ongoing speculation on new runes.

Besides GIZMO, the other big winners include fellow newcomers Orange Pills and Based Angels.

A new meta seems to be emerging, where existing projects launch runes to revitalize their ecosystems and floor prices. However, be mindful of the time limitations on most metas—this one is likely no different.
