XO Weekly Recap + Bongo Declares War On $PUPS

As Bitcoin breached $98K yesterday afternoon, XO Weekly #16 kicked off with GreenCandle Jack back from a two-week hiatus, welcoming listeners in with tunes as the space filled up.

Landy wasted no time getting us up to speed, breaking down what drove the Bitcoin pump. The conversation shifted into a broader reflection on Bitcoin’s place in the grand scheme of things and its future when it comes to mass adoption.

The panel, unsurprisingly, was in full agreement that we’re exactly where we should be. But while the destination was unanimous, each panelist had a unique perspective worth listening to with gems in every take, including one suggesting Operation Chokepoint was a coordinated effort to scare retail away from Bitcoin so institutions could plunder the supply uninterrupted.

Phoenixx brought us into the news section with an update on the OdinFun hacker, who has now been identified and reported to law enforcement by Bob Bodily. A man who doesn’t know who you are, doesn’t know what you want—but if you hack his platform, he has a particular set of skills, and he will find you.

WhiteCoco gave his take on the news and briefly touched on what it means for the future of the platform (spoiler: good things). Then we heard from RikG who dropped an update on TRAC Validator licenses.

We wrapped up with a look at the OP_Return war and the drama surrounding it—some of it from our old friend Luke Dashjr (yes, the cat-eating guy). Landy broke it down from a technical angle and explained what it really means for Bitcoin.

With a lot of disinformation flying around, this was an essential listen to stay informed and immune to the spin.

Bongo and the $PUPS community are officially at war. After Bongo claimed they ruined the Bitcoin Puppets collection, pushback came fast. The rebuttals was that $PUPS actually predate the Puppets and that $GIZMO might be the real vamp attack here.

But is it even real beef? Or just drama for the sake of it? Fugazi FUD designed to shake out the last weak hands?

Ordinals

26 sales for Bitcoin Punks, one of the OG collections, yesterday took the floor price up to 0.0069 (nice) BTC. They’re up 18% today.

Silk Road Not Dead breaks into the top 10 and is up 325% today. A free mint of 3,310 commemorating the infamous marketplace.

Everywhere else, there’s nothing you haven’t read already. Still waiting for alt season, so let’s reserve judgment until then.

That said, while we feature the top 10 — and most FUD posts you’ll find on X screenshot the top 10 just like this — there are plenty of other collections with strong communities that haven’t gone anywhere. Like XO, you can buy an Unchained here.

Ordinals are far from dead. Don’t believe the lies.

OG Runes

$MIM continues to trail $DOG by nearly 6x, but it’s up 11% today — as is $FEHU (ICO details “soon”). The biggest gainer, once again, is $CYPHER, which always performs well when it pumps — up 19%.

$BILLY and $PUPS are struggling, down 12% and 19% respectively. And the question remains: who’s not only holding $TESLA, but buying so much of it that it keeps landing in the top 10?

OdinFun, FunkyBit, and Alkanes

A mostly red day on OdinFun, with only GoldBTC making a notable move — a strong 21% gain.

OdinDog is up almost 1%, slightly falling behind leader $BITCAT despite its sizable drop over the past 24 hours.

No change on FunkyBit, and with only $21 traded outside the top two, the idea that Funky needs a new runner is basically confirmed.

Over on Alkanes, volume looks solid on $METHANE — it would actually rank 3rd if it were on the OG Runes chart. Likewise, $DIESEL would be 5th, which is encouraging also.
