It’s a terrible day to be the OdinFun hacker.

Last night, Bob Bodily shared a detailed post-mortem on the OdinFun security breach, confirming the attacker has not only been identified but fully doxxed, thanks to cooperation with exchanges and some meticulous tracking across chains.

Furthermore, law enforcement is now involved, and in an act of mercy that would benefit both sides, Bob and the team have offered the hacker a white-hat bounty if he cooperates.

Remind us to never get on Bob’s bad side. Wew.

Other details in Bob’s post included confirmation that all 27 affected users have been refunded 1:1, and that the specific exploit was patched shortly after the breach.

While the vulnerability came from third-party code by AstroX, it was deployed by OdinFun, who have since rolled out new security measures and promised more on the way.

The exploit has no doubt slowed progress on upcoming platform updates, but with this unfortunate chapter wrapping up now, attention is expected to shift back toward long-awaited features like OG Runes integration.

Bob signs off with a nod to that, so indeed, it appears to be top of the list.

Meanwhile, over on The Ordinals Show last night, Counterparty got a moment in the spotlight.

Lead Maintainer, Adam Krellenstein, offered a interesting overview of the protocol’s early days building on Bitcoin, recounting the resistance and growing pains he faced; challenges that echo loudly for today’s Ordinals and Runes builders, who are encountering similar pushback.

Adam also weighed in on the OP_Return debate, joining other guests in unpacking the ongoing protocol war, which might ironically be what pulls the space closer together. Nothing unites us like angry maxis! Go give that a listen to hear it all in full.

Ordinals

Total volume is up on the day across the entire Ordinals market, as you can see in the chart above, but you wouldn’t know it just by looking at the top 10.

It’s usually noteworthy when no collection breaks 1 BTC in sales. Typically, at least the #1 spot clears that mark. But for no project to even hit 0.5 BTC? That’s almost unheard of!

Is this the calm before the storm? Surely. Surely?!

Prices are reflecting the lack of volume with a sea of red. The only standout is Lunatics, solidly in the green and by a wide margin, now trading above their all-time high at 0.0017 BTC.

Hats off to them. Now if everyone else could follow suit, we’re golden!

OG Runes

There’s at least some volume happening with Runes. But it’s basically all $DOG, which did nearly FIFTEEN times what $MIM in second place managed.

What does this mean? It’s a strong signal for $DOG. For everyone else, the hopeful view is that a rising tide lifts all boats. We’ve seen before how even a few thousand dollars can move Runes floors up by more than 50%+.

The Runes on Slingshot launch is still on the horizon. We’re just waiting to see how it impacts the space.

OdinFun, FunkyBit, and Alkanes

Even with Bob’s update packed with positives, OdinDog is down 6 percent today and still trailing $BITCAT and OdinApe.

Those two also dropped, though, so the market cap gap remains fairly close.

FunkyBit is still in a bit of a funk, with minimal change in the top five.

It might be time for a new leader to emerge. There doesn’t seem to be much buzz around the current top tokens.

Over on Alkanes, it’s a recovery day for most of the top five. $METHANE leads in volume, with CheekyB next.

But $BUTANE is the real winner today, jumping 27%.
