HBO | A Satoshi Nothing Burger
While everyone sat at the edge of their seats, popcorn in hand, wallets ready to sell it all if Gary Gensler were revealed as the true Satoshi Nakamoto, the much-anticipated reveal turned out to be an epic nothing burger.
Is @peterktodd really Satoshi Nakamoto...
...and what was his pet's name again (asking for a mate)?

After heated debates, fluctuating frontrunners, and rampant speculation, none of the expected candidates ended up being crowned the “God and Creator of all crypto.” Instead, the announcement revealed someone far from the spotlight untill then—someone whose claim to Satoshi fame left us without even a pet we could name a Rune after. If this non-pet argument wasn’t unconvincing enough, Peter Todd himself vehemently denied the allegations, quipping; “You’re creative! You come up with some crazy theories.”
The heavily relies on circumstantial evidence, such as Todd’s academic schedule aligning with Nakamoto’s posting patterns and a chat log misinterpreted as an admission about Nakamoto’s Bitcoin hoard—claims Todd dismisses as “ludicrous.” Critics argue Todd was relatively unknown during Bitcoin’s early days, likely lacking the expertise needed to author the Bitcoin white paper. Furthermore, the documentary presented no definitive proof, relying on more speculative links, like the timing of Nakamoto’s disappearance coinciding with Todd’s rise in prominence.
In one of the opening moments of Bitcoin Amsterdam, the creator of the Proof of Work consensus model, later cited by Satoshi Nakamoto in the Bitcoin white paper, made it clear: We will never know who Satoshi is!

Unsurprisingly, the big reveal never happened, and we’re right back where we started—still without a physical person to call Satoshi Nakamoto. All we’re left with is the legacy and, more importantly, the digitised, decentralised, and secure future of money and gold that Bitcoin promises for the world.
Many agree that perhaps this is for the best. It’s time to accept that respecting Satoshi’s wish to remain anonymous is the most fitting conclusion. However, it’s safe to assume that documentary makers and television networks won’t leave the massive marketing potential of this mystery alone for long.
So, until the next big reveal, at least we’ll have something to speculate on—if nothing else, it’ll inspire a fresh batch of creative memecoins for our entertainment.
Wait… Adam Back? Maybe… Its’ him! I mean, it’s gotta be him right?

Daily Alpha | Coinbase allowing BTC transactions to Taproot addresses
More exciting news was unexpectedly dropped on X by Coinbase. While the message might mean little to the average crypto or even Bitcoin investor, it had participants in the Ordinal ecosystem racing to collect liquidity and heavily allocate into Runes today.
📢 Exciting news!
We're pleased to announce that Coinbase․com users can now send Bitcoin to Taproot addresses, creating access to more onchain destinations.

As many of you know, this move to specifically open up to Taproot wallets is almost too coincidental. With Taproot wallets being the go-to format for Rune and Ordinal trading—and the high volume associated with Rune memecoins—this revelation seems to point clearly in one direction.
Runes on Coinbase!?
Has $DOG been barking up the wrong tree all this time, looking to Binance for a swift listing process, while Coinbase was secretly gearing up to join this bustling ecosystem? One thing is certain: if Coinbase makes the move, other Tier 1 exchanges will be quick to follow in fear of missing out on massive volume-based revenue.
Valhalla seems one step closer, friends!
BREAKING: Due to the recent surge in interest around Bitcoin memecoins rumor has it that several tier-1 exchanges are having internal conversations about adding support for Runes

Magic Eden | Top 10 Ordinal Collections by Volume
The first place where we can see attention on Runes today, based on the Coinbase tweet, is unfortunately the Ordinal collections. Every collection except the Bitcoin Puppets took a loss today. While the Frogs stood out yesterday as one of only two winners, they are the only double-digit loser today.
The Taproot Puppets saw a major post-launch spike, followed by the familiar dump only minutes later, though they are still showing high volume today.
Projects will have to wait for a rotation out of Runes or new retail interest driven by a possible “Uptober” move to find their footing again, as shown by the lackluster volume compared to Runes.

Magic Eden | Top 8 Runes by Volume
The second place we can see the effect of the Coinbase post is in the Runes market. There’s good volume across the board, although not much higher than yesterday. Green numbers dominate the top collections, except for yesterday’s two winners—ironically, today’s only losers—RSIC and Based Panda.
Saiko Hamster has indeed gone full “Saiko” with a massive 77% move, reaching new all-time highs since June and closing in on 500 Sats.
Of course, Peter Todd is represented in today’s Rune casino, but since the speculation is over, I’m not sure how sustainable this meme is. Then again, it’s crypto, so anything can happen. DYOR 😛
Another massive entry is Ribbit Magic Fortune, showing a remarkable 5,245% jump upwards. This Rune was only created two days ago, so it should be approached with extra caution.
In general, the Rune market looks healthy, with a lot of trading at the top and a lot of minting happening with new Runes, meaning overall massive liquidity is being added to this market segment.
