Pause Market Vibes, Peak Space Energy

XO Weekly #14, our weekly Space on X discussing the market moves and latest news in Ordinals, came at a time where, honestly, there wasn’t a whole lot of fresh material to chew on.

To borrow a line from Landy, who borrowed it from his friend David Gokhshtein; we’re in a Pause Market. Which doesn’t exactly make for easy prep when you’re trying to put on an entertaining show.

What’s a Pause Market? It’s like someone hit pause on the market and we’re all just staring at the screen, waiting for whoever left to come back from the bathroom so the movie can resume. FUN.

Somehow, that didn’t stop us from laying on one of the best — and definitely the longest — episodes in our catalogue.

We kicked things off, as always, with Landy’s market analysis, where he gave us the key levels he’s watching. As he said though, they’re the same ones from the past 3–4 weeks. Pause Market! 

That said, Landy goes deeper into other areas during his 3x-a-week livestreams over on YouTube, where broader context is explored. You can catch up on the latest episode from last night here:

We also had Null in the mix with his expert analysis, including a few dates he’s watching, where he expects some vitality to emerge starting next week and rolling into early May.

What dates exactly? You’ll have to listen to the recording to find out.

And in a true reflection of how dry the market is, Jack and Phoenixx took us on a long tangent about the psychology of addiction and how it ties into good parenting. Yep. That was not in the pre-show notes, but it just kind of happened, and turned into a genuinely fascinating discussion. Maybe we should do more of those?

In other news, we dove into the latest drama around Base’s push to tokenize everything. Is Jesse Pollak and the team basically just the Steve Buscemi “Hello fellow kids” meme come to life?

And what actually happened with the Mantra nuke? Did any of the high-profile voices weighing in even know what they were talking about? Jack and Landy broke it all down.

Ordinals

Interest in Alkanes is kicking in, and Airheads are up 25% on the day, with 105 sales totaling just over 1 BTC. Word is, there’s growing Chinese interest in them, and they appear to be minting Alkane tokens.

Is this BRC-20 all over again? Time will tell, maybe even in the next few days.

Newly launched collection, EgoDeath, comes in at 9th today, up 175% since Friday. With a supply of just 100, it’s already commanding a decent price at just under $1,000. Congrats to the team on a strong debut!

Runes

$BRO is looking strong, true to form with that finely chiseled physique of his, up 44% today off just $8.5K in volume.

It’s now about 50% away from the market cap of $GIZMO, and if it can push any closer, it might be time to start talking about whether it’s gone from microcap gem to undervalued future mid-tier leader.

Down in 10th, we’ve got $BIP, a Rune we flagged in Issue #175, saying more upside wouldn’t be surprising given how sharply it had dropped compared to peers.

And here we are: up 47% today and now back in touching distance of a $1M market cap.

Trouble for the top 5 today on OdinFun; it's an all-red day, and by some margin.

Is the drop on OdinDog connected to heavy Chinese interest rotating into Alkanes? Possibly. But what’s more interesting is the pattern of these drops.

OdinApe and Odinstas are only down slightly, while OdinDog and Satoshi are down more sharply—more in line with what we’re seeing across the rest of the platform.

This could be a decent indicator of which tokens are propped up by a few whales, and which ones are standing on their own, for better or worse.

Drama over on FunkyBit as Andrew Lawrence just announced he burned his GrandmasterFunk holdings—50% of the total supply.

As is often the case with supply burns, the price took a hit right after.

This move comes after Lawrence had previously pledged to airdrop those holdings to the community. Now that it's off the table, holders are left wondering what comes next.
