OG Runes Imminent On OdinFun, Sats Terminal Secures the Bag

In an incredible turn of events, it turns out Jim Cramer was wrong when he called for “Black Monday” yesterday. It wasn’t an entirely great day, but the fear was overblown. Are we out of the woods yet? Not by a long shot you’d imagine, but we’re getting there.

Now, following on from yesterday’s 7 Reasons to Be Cheerful, we’ve got two more today, both falling neatly under reason number five: “Bitcoin DeFi is Coming.”

OG Runes Coming to OdinFun

Starting with OdinFun, it’s been a bit of a quiet patch lately. Most top tokens, aside from OdinDog, have taken a beating and volume has declined. But the platform just rolled out a bunch of solid new features: editable social links, pinned comments, X account verification, and auto-translation in the comment section.

But the one feature everyone’s been waiting for is still missing... for now.

OG Runes support has now been officially confirmed to be arriving in the next update. What impact will it have? The assumption is positive, it adds accessibility, and accessibility tends to drive volume. How much of a bump that creates remains to be seen, but it’s a clear step forward. One to watch closely.

Sats Terminal Raises $1.7M

Meanwhile, over at Sats Terminal, the Bitcoin DeFi aggregation protocol backed by Coinbase Ventures and Draper VC, the team just locked in a $1.7M pre-seed round. Their mission is to fix Bitcoin DeFi’s biggest problem: fragmented liquidity.

The plan is to offer the best staking returns, optimal token swap pricing, seamless bridging, and borrowing, all under one roof. Whether you're trading Runes, stacking BTC, or hunting yield, Sats Terminal wants to be your go-to dashboard for it all, and this raise is a massive step forward to them achieving that.

It’s funny, scroll through your feed and you’ll see people still dunking on Runes, quite often “big” accounts who are focused on other chains. It gets them clicks, ok, but maybe they just haven’t clocked how much attention and capital is flowing into the infrastructure behind them?

We’re not at the promised land just yet, but the build phase is in full swing. Keep paying attention while they make their jokes, because he/she who laughs last, laughs the loudest!

Ordinals

An all-green top 5 today, with some pretty robust bounces around the 20% mark, most notably for OMB and OnChainMonkey.

OCM briefly became the second most valuable Ordinals collection by market cap yesterday, but has since been overtaken again by Bitcoin Puppets.

Following that in fourth is Taproot Wizards, then Runestone, which is currently acting as the separator between them and Quantum Cats, who sit in sixth.

Runes (Bitcoin Memecoins)

A strong day for Runes as well, with mostly green across the top 10. The biggest gainer of the day is $BIP, up 24%. Just behind it in seventh is fellow OG low cap $SAIKO, both sitting fairly close in market cap.

There’s still a clear appetite for these die-hards that have weathered everything thrown at them over the past year or so. And it’s totally reasonable to believe that when Runes properly pop, these will be among the ones that pop the hardest.

The running order of the top 10 is unchanged since yesterday, and it’s been relatively quiet on the OdinFun front in general, with uncharacteristically little movement in either direction.

As mentioned in the headline story, it’ll be interesting to see how the implementation of OG Runes on the platform affects things.

But for now, we await the next OdinFun-born runner that grabs attention.

Unfortunately, with the ease of launching comes plenty of pitfalls in trying to determine what’s legit and what isn’t, so don’t get too bored during this lull, and be discerning with what you ape.
