Revisiting Ordinals History With Punks On Bitcoin

In our 11th XO Weekly Space yesterday, we were joined by two of the OGs behind Thursday’s featured story, Punks on Bitcoin. They took us through how they acquired the sub10K collection and detailed all of the journey of ups and downs that came along the way.

Imper1um and Sparadanni also shared profound insights on why sub10K provenance is about much more than just profit or hype. It represents a time when Ordinals were more representative of the DIY, cypherpunk roots of Bitcoin itself. Indeed, with so much FUD and in-fighting on the timeline these days, the contrast is stark these days.

It was a great discussion with two highly respected figures in the space who have played a huge role in shaping Ordinals into what they are today!

Ordinals

Taproot Wizards haven't had the start they were hoping for. While the collection has racked up over 50 BTC in volume over the past 24 hours, it's stuck in 0.2 BTC hell, unable to break out of that range.

The FUD on the timeline has been overwhelming, with many detractors; whether of Udi, the collection, or both, reveling in the ongoing struggle.

That said, regardless of personal feelings, it would be foolish not to hope for them to succeed. A thriving Taproot Wizards collection would ultimately reflect well on the entire Ordinals ecosystem, it’s fair to assume.

Our chat yesterday with the Punks on Bitcoin team brought back memories of a time when it was us vs. the world, against the maxis on other chains who thought we were crazy.

They remain correct on that accusation, of course, but that’s beside the point, we were united together. A far cry from our current situation sadly, and you can put the blame firmly at the feet of many people and reasons.

$CYPHER leads the OG Runes with a 24% increase, and honestly, that’s about all there is to say about Runes today unless you want the usual doom and gloom, which I know you don’t.

OdinDog has put OdinApe down for good perhaps, now leading it with over double the market cap.

$SPARKS leads the day with a 42% surge, but plenty of others are showing strength too. Seems like the real play was accumulating throughout the past week. Hopefully you were doing so too, as was non-financially advised in multiple issues this past week!
