$DOG be Barking, Meme’s be Booming

Once again, the market has shown us that memes still reign supreme this cycle. Not only are they moving up faster than any other segment, but they’re also holding much better than many “more legitimate” narratives. In an interesting take, Murad, who has already given an eloquent explanation as to why memes are not less legitimate, elaborates on memetic power. His thesis states that upper-middle-class buyers are the ones incentivised to hustle for the token’s success.

A personal addition I’d like to make is that not only are they incentivised, but the upper-middle class is also the perfect balance between being high enough to belong but not high enough to exit yet, because greater dreams still remain. This thought also extends to the real-world upper-middle class, by the way.

Leonidas’s addition further shows that many $DOG holders have significant bags. This makes sense because anyone who held their initial Runestone airdrop is perfectly positioned within that 1k-10k range.

As a testament to this, $DOG once again shows major upside momentum with even the slightest market upswing. Two important markers confirm this bullish positioning for the top Rune:

1. $DOG briefly reclaimed its $400M market cap earlier today.

2. $DOG also set a new all-time high in its ever-growing holder count. This holder count, combined with the previously stated 58% above the $1k metric, clearly reveals a sizeable and incentivised $DOG ARMY barking with significant memetic power.

Like yesterday, ordinal collections are showing a more mixed blend of green and red. This might be due to the attraction of—you guessed it—memes. Runes are draining massive volume away from collections today, but more on that later.

Runestone just beat the Puppets in volume, breaking their multi-day top volume streak. Nodemonks dropped even further to make room for OMB, who show a nice 7.5% gain.

Like yesterday, today has an interesting #10 with a lesser-known but double-digit gainer, Aeons.

It will be interesting to see if runes will keep leeching volume from ordinal collections in this part of the cycle.

Green across the board—you really love to see it! As our top story mentioned, memes are once again showing their strength, which basically applies to 99% of all Runes.

The number one rune today is a newcomer with unprecedented volume! Sasha The Bitcoin Cat, insta-teleports its way to the top of the charts with an eye-watering $15M+ daily volume. It’s been a while since a rune hit this hard. As far as we know, Sasha was the name of Len Sassaman’s cat, so it makes sense that Len’s cat is more powerful than Len himself. Because obviously cats, degens and reasons…

Noot is displaying near-unstoppable memetic power with its third consecutive day of massive double-digit gains, with the first day even hitting triple digits.

Pups are also showing incredible strength and a deep understanding of culture with a beautiful 69% gain. Saiko is on a roll as well, marking its second consecutive day of double-digit gains.

The mysterious Ghost of Len Sassaman penetrated the top ten harder than a [insert adolescent joke here], with a massive 6,051% gain. This Rune clearly ties into the HBO documentary in which Polymarkets predict that Len Sassaman will be revealed as the real Satoshi Nakamoto. If true… this Rune could do amazing things!

For both Len’s Ghost and Cat, keep in mind that there will likely be many Len-based Runes, and the first isn’t necessarily the winner. Also, be mindful of the short lifespan, lower market cap and holder count, which makes all make them more volatile and easier to manipulate.

Whatever happens, it will most certainly be entertaining, as always!
