We've Hit Extreme Fear: Is It Time To Give Up?

Every day feels the same. You wake up, check the charts, and once again, prices have fallen off a cliff while you were sleeping peacefully—unaware of the manmade horrors unfolding overnight. It’s all so tiring.

This has been the reality for what feels like an eternity, but the past 24-48 hours have been particularly brutal. The entire crypto market has taken a steep nosedive, leaving everyone scrambling for answers.

🔻 Bitcoin fell to $87,000, erasing gains from its near $100K peak.

🔻 Ethereum, Solana, and altcoins are down 5% to over 30%. Memecoins and small caps have been nuked into oblivion.

🔻 Market cap losses in the billions, liquidations over $650 million in just 12 hours.

Current Market Sentiment: Panic Mode

😨 Extreme Fear Levels

The Fear & Greed Index has plunged to “Extreme Fear,” hitting lows reminiscent of the FTX collapse in 2022.

🔥 Social Media Chaos

X has turned into an inhospitable wasteland—with traders reacting to the Bybit hack, Trump’s rumored BTC sales, and whispers of CZ (allegedly) selling off anything he can get his hands on.

Is It Time To Give Up?

Only you can decide that. But history suggests that as bad as this is—and make no mistake about it, it has been bad—similar market crashes have happened in every previous cycle—and led to massive buying opportunities.

Veteran trader, Bob Loukas, has been warning about this for months. The good news? If his multi-cycle experience is right, we’re now very close to the end of this madness and nearing a major turning point.

And remember back in early July? A huge sell-off sent Fear & Greed into Extreme Fear—and that marked the bottom.

Will history repeat? Nobody has a crystal ball, but past data suggests smart decisions are made by looking at what’s played out before.

Now is the time to keep your wits about you and your emotions in check, whatever you decide to do.

OMB is down 51%, expectedly, as the Black Eyes mint is currently in progress with 63% minted at the time of writing.

There’s been much speculation as to whether the collection will successfully mint out or not, with FUD reaching peak levels amid the market turmoil in recent weeks. Currently, the floor is 0.007 above mint price, making it an attractive prospect for those looking to enter on secondary if they like OMB, but have been on the sidelines.

Will it go lower from here? Entirely possible. Let’s see what happens by tomorrow.

Curiously, Quantum Cats is once again somehow up on a day where almost everything else is deep in the red. Ordinal Faces is up 5x after two sales boosted the floor to 0.299 BTC.

Runes (Bitcoin Memecoins)

It looks bad again, but there is one small positive to take away. $DOG has recorded a daily trading volume on Magic Eden of almost 2 BTC, a far cry from the low numbers seen in recent times. This puts it firmly ahead of its closest competitor, $MIM, which dropped to third place today behind $PUPS.

$RSIC is now dangerously close to falling below a $10 million market cap, and $GIZMO has dipped below $3 million.

It begs the question—when do these become buys? Some would say now, but with sentiment at rock-bottom and no clear shift in momentum, there seems to be no real urgency. Maybe dollar-cost averaging is the answer, if you’re still a believer.
