The fallout from the $LIBRA scam continues to deepen, with new revelations shaking the market. More high-profile names could soon be revealed as participants in this scheme—individuals who have been extracting value from the space for months, if not years.

But at this point, do we really need to keep rehashing the story? News is slow outside of this scandal, but unless something truly shocking emerges, it's time to move forward and figure out what’s next.

Many of us have been deeply involved in Solana markets, and for those who’ve been burned the hardest, this might be the right moment to explore other investment opportunities—particularly in Bitcoin assets.

This isn’t about writing off Solana. Far from it. Once the bad actors are flushed out, Solana will recover, with real projects and strong communities taking the lead. But while the dust settles, if you’re looking for a space with fewer rug pulls and more long-term integrity, here’s why Bitcoin assets like Ordinals and Runes might be worth your attention.

Bitcoin’s ecosystem values history and significance over quick flips. While Solana has been an incredible breeding ground for rapid innovation, it's also been a haven for projects that exist purely to extract liquidity from retail. Bitcoin assets tend to move slower, but that’s a feature, not a bug. There’s an inherent cultural difference in how Bitcoin-native communities approach value—one that prioritizes long-term significance over hype-driven speculation.

Security is another key factor. The very thing that makes Bitcoin harder to use for fast-paced trading—the network’s slower transactions and higher fees—also makes it less susceptible to the kind of rapid-fire rug pulls that happen daily on Solana. The friction involved in transacting on Bitcoin might be annoying at times, but it’s also a deterrent for scammers who rely on speed and low fees to pull off their schemes.

Liquidity and network effects also play a role. Every time you buy or sell an Ordinal or a Rune, you’re transacting directly into Bitcoin, the most liquid and widely adopted cryptocurrency in the world. There’s no need to bridge to another chain, no reliance on third-party intermediaries, and no risk of being stuck with worthless tokens because a liquidity pool dried up overnight. Bitcoin’s market depth provides a safety net that other ecosystems simply can’t match.

Beyond just security and liquidity, Bitcoin offers something that’s been sorely lacking in other ecosystems lately: accountability. The Bitcoin community isn’t built around influencers dumping on their followers or launching insider-rigged projects. While bad actors exist in every space, Bitcoin’s culture doesn’t reward them in the same way. There's a reason you don’t see the same cycle of Solana-style influencer pump-and-dumps playing out on Bitcoin—it’s just not part of the ethos.

Finally, there’s the psychological factor. After everything that’s happened with $LIBRA, $MELANIA, and a year+ of being told to “LOCK IN” and “NEVER STOP CLICKING, ANON,” a lot of people are exhausted. The constant churn of Solana shitcoins, the never-ending cycle of hype and collapse—it wears on you. Bitcoin offers a mental reset. It’s slower, it’s steadier, and it’s not dependent on a revolving door of anonymous Telegram accounts promising 100x gains.

Solana will have its time again, but right now, Bitcoin offers a more stable, culture-driven alternative. Maybe this isn’t just a safer move—it could be the shift that rekindles faith in what crypto was always meant to be.

Fresh lows were hit today across several key Ordinals collections, with OMB, Bitcoin Puppets, and NodeMonkes all seeing declines. Quantum Cats also dropped below 0.2 BTC for the first time in a while, while Bitcoin Wizards took a significant hit, falling nearly 40% in a post-snapshot price correction.

But amidst the carnage, one project stood out—The Golden Horseshoe by Bitcoin Derby, which surged 66% in value. Bitcoin Derby bills itself as “the first AI gaming and betting experience on Bitcoin,” and the hype around it is growing fast after 504 free mints were distributed yesterday.

Could this be Bitcoin’s answer to past winners like ZedRun?

Runes (Bitcoin Memecoins)

Today marks the first time we’re officially including $MIM in this list, as the migration from $WZRD is now underway. Currently sitting at a $67M market cap, it’s still unclear whether this Rune can inject some much-needed life back into the space—but you certainly wouldn’t rule it out from happening.

Overall, it wasn’t a disastrous day compared to the broader market, especially when looking at Solana and Ethereum memecoins.

$MORI continued its habit of performing well when others falter, climbing 15% today and breaking into the top five by volume. While the rest of the market struggles to find footing, $MORI seems to thrive in red conditions—an impressive feat in the current climate.
